Top 5 Wednesday: Books Featuring Witches

Top 5 Wednesday (#T5W) is something that I discovered through Ash’s blog, so go check her out! It was created by Lainey and Samantha in 2013 and is still going strong. There is a new topic every week, and you choose 5 books that are related to that topic. If you’re interested in joining in, have a look at their Goodreads group for more information.

This week, the topic is books featuring witches! I looooove witches, so I’m super excited about this one.

1. Harry Potter

This book has some of the most badass witches in existence, so it is obviously my first choice. Plus, by favourite fictional character is the Brightest Witch of Her Age in this, so duuuh.

2. The Vampire Diaries

This may not be the best book series, but it is a good TV series, and Bonnie Bennett is one of the first characters that comes to mind when I think of witches, after the Harry Potter ladies, of course.

3. The Witches

I loved this book so much as a child! I received it on one of those Christmas events they do when the kid meets Santa and gets a present. Roald Dahl was one of my favourite authors.

4. A Discovery Of Witches

I read this a while ago now, and I definitely want to re-read to to refresh my memory.

5. Macbeth

I know that this one is a play, but it still involves witches, and I really enjoyed it when I studied it at school a few years back.

So, they’re my five witchy-themed books. What are your favourite books that include witches?

  1. I liked The Vampire Diaries books. Well the first four books. Then they kept doing more and more and the characters just weren’t the characters I loved anymore.

  2. I love the All Souls Trilogy and can’t wait to see the tv adaptation. Other favorites include The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, Practical Magic, and the Sweep Series.
